On 23 September 2025, a delegation of the Dutch Italian Business Association (DIBA) was warmly received by H.E. Ambassador Augusto Massari and his staff at the Embassy of Italy in The Hague. The meeting aimed to explore new forms of collaboration between DIBA and the Embassy to further strengthen business, cultural and institutional ties between Italy and the Netherlands.
The encounter was highly engaging and dynamic. After DIBA President introduced the Association’s mission and activities, each participating member had the opportunity to personally present his/her professional background, ideas and initiatives to Ambassador Massari. The Ambassador showed major interest in understanding the diverse sectors represented within DIBA and expressed his intention to develop structured cooperation with the Association in the months ahead.
The Embassy’s host committee included Jacopo Gattanella, First Secretary; Maria Pia Bianconi, Economic Attaché; Matteo Sebastiano Longobardi, Administrative Collaborator; and three stagiaires. As a token of appreciation, DIBA presented the Ambassador with a volume on The Fountains of Rome, highlighting also the Bee Fountain at Piazza Barberini, which was restored in 2017 with funds and the contribution of the Dutch community, including DIBA.
Following the meeting, the Embassy staff and DIBA members gathered for an aperitif-dinner at the iconic Hotel Des Indes, in the historic Anna Pavlova Room, where the famous ballet dancer once stayed. Guests enjoyed a convivial atmosphere and a brief presentation of the hotel’s fascinating history, marking a perfect close to the evening.
The Embassy later published an official press release, available on ANSA, reporting on the fruitful exchange: Amb. Augusto Massari sees the Dutch Italia Business Association.
The event concluded with an atmosphere of enthusiasm and mutual appreciation. DIBA expresses its sincere gratitude to Ambassador Massari and his team for their warm hospitality, time and valuable insights, and it looks forward to the development of joint projects that will further strengthen the economic and cultural partnership between Italy and the Netherlands.
