On Friday 24 October DIBA member and participating artist Jules Vissers guided a small DIBA delegation through the Florence Biennale of Art & Design, which took place from 18 until 26 October 2025 at the Fortezza da Basso, Florence.
The Florence Biennale is a large international exhibition of art and design, ranging from classical painting and sculpture to installation and digital art, as well as textile and fiber art. In each edition a theme is proposed and developed through collateral events, conferences and educational projects. This year’s theme was: “The Sublime Essence of Light and Darkness. Concepts of Dualism and Unity in Contemporary Art and Design“.
The Diba delegation toured the Biennale pavilions but chose not to visit Tim Burton’s exhibition due to the long queue. After visiting the Biennale, the Diba group took a short walk towards Jules’ atelier, where they looked at the various artworks exposed there and where Jules explained about her creative process and materials. For the apericena the Diba Delegation went to a nice bar in the Via San Gallo.
